NDAD took part in a successful Minot-based fundraising effort to help the 19-year-old online college student obtain a specially designed accessible vehicle - one she not only can board herself but drive on her own, too. Taniesha was born with caudal regression syndrome, a developmental disorder that impairs her spinal cord, lower back, limbs and more.
Now in its milestone 30th year, Escape to the Lake continues to provide individuals with health challenges the opportunity to experience the thrill of water sports using adaptive equipment, with support and guidance from trained volunteers. The event reflects NDAD’s longtime commitment to expanding access to recreation and promoting inclusive community experiences.
Through a donation from NDAD, a VertaCat mobility cart is now available at King’s Walk Golf Course—opening the door for individuals with limited mobility to experience the game in a new and meaningful way.
